Workplace Needs Assessment for Neurodivergent Staff

Creating supportive, neuro-inclusive workplaces that help everyone thrive

A Workplace Needs Assessment (WNA) is a specialist assessment designed to identify practical adjustments that can help an employee perform their job effectively

Unlike a diagnostic or screening assessment, usually carried out by a clinical or educational psychologist a WNA focuses entirely on the workplace context.

This means  the tasks, tools, and environment that shape day-to-day performance. I am a qualified Workplace Needs Assessor, OCN Level 4 and have the skills to conduct a WNA.

The assessment explores specific challenges an employee/staff member may be experience. It provides  tailored recommendations that could make their work experience more productive and positive.

A Workplace Needs Assessment includes:

  • An individual meeting with a workplace specialist who explores work-related challenges, environment, and coping strategies.
  • A detailed report outlining recommended workplace adjustments,  practical steps and supports that can help the employee work more effectively and confidently.

Who it’s for

Workplace Needs Assessments can be requested for employees with a wide range of disabilities and neurodivergent profiles, including:

  • Dyslexia
  • ADHD
  • Dyspraxia / Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)
  • Dyscalculia
  • Autism Spectrum Conditions
  • Or other cognitive and processing differences

Workplace Needs Assessments are suitable for employees at all levels, as well as employers and HR teams who want to understand how best to support a team member’s success at work.
